The beauty of nature is so simple that it is completely missed by so many. Like this fallen twig casting beautiful shadows upon the snow. Very simple peaceful serenity.

Marshall Point Lighthouse at Port Clyde, Maine, built in 1823 and rebuilt in 1858. It is located on the east side entrance to Port Clyde. Quint little fishing village.

This little fellow is a flying squirrel who had taken up residents in one of my birdhouses at camp. One day I was out cutting firewood and for some reason or other looked up in the tree and there he was just staring at me very inquisitively. I really thing he was hoping I was not going to cut down his lofty home.

Spent a couple days in Prospect Harbor. This was the view from our cottage porch which was right up against the water at high tide. While sitting there one evening I captured the night shadows beginning to settled along the whole shore. beautiful area on the Schoodic Peninsula. Great restaurant called the "Pickle Wrinkle " .

Naked as a J-Bird

First blue jay that I have met who absolutely refused to have his picture taken, mumbled something like he was naked as a Jay bird.... Let me tell you them jay's can be so dang finicky at times...probably his best side anyway?

Coopers Hawk giving thanks for the bounty of a pigeon that he just captured

Another shot of a Coopers hawk downing a pigeon, this was very interesting for I was able to watch the whole process of the kill.

Beaver taking a short scratching break from his busy work of getting dam and lodge building material.

This red squirrel was featured on America's Most Wanted once, he's an egg and chick thief. Just look at the way he is peering into that bird box, guilty written all over him. If spotted please call Audubon, he may be armed and dangerous with those two front incisors he brandishes when caught.
